Our market research and user feedback tells us that anonymity is essential in the success of GreenWood’s service.
We preserve your anonymity even if your e mail address contains potentially identifying information. We do this by using a ‘screen’ between the psychologists and the client. When you sign up to GreenWood you are allocated a GreenWood ID. This ID is what is visible to the psychologist you work with. Your e mail details are kept on the server, invisible to the psychologists. You are encouraged to use a pseudonym so that you have a ‘name’ for the psychologist to relate to.
If you do not trust this system, you can further ensure anonymity by creating a new e mail account without identifying characteristics and using that to communicate with us.
Confidentiality is of the essence to any psychological intervention and you will sign an agreement about this at the outset of your work with us. This outlines the limits of confidentiality, as all professional are also bound by a duty of care to their clients and to the public. Even though our work is anonymous, we still respect rules about information protection and discretion.
Privacy is of the utmost importance to us. We work with the Data Protection Act and do not share your e mail or personal information with anyone. For more on our e mail privacy please see our Privacy Policy.
Security of your data and communications is paramount to us. All communications via out server are encrypted at the highest level possible.
All files and personal data at stored at the server and accessed by yourself and your psychologist by logging onto the site. No files or data are held on personal computers, storage disks or hard copy. You may choose to save details of your session for your own convenience, on your own system, at your own risk. Or you may choose to use our server for safe storage.
GreenWood uses a server based rather than a web based site, further improving security.
What can I expect?
First, you will have a dialogue with your potential mentor, before you commit to anything.
During this phase you will complete some assessment forms and anonymity/confidentiality agreement.
Then your potential mentor will let you know whether and how they can help. This will include an estimate of how many contacts will be needed to resolve the issues.
You will then agree a number of contacts with your mentor. At first these will need to be weekly.
The first contacts after this agreement will involve the following:
Your mentor will help clarify your joint goals and will invite you to rate the severity of any problems or level of achievement of any objectives both at the start and towards the end of the agreed number of contacts.
Your mentor will help formulate the psychological processes involved in your current issues and plan an exit strategy out of any vicious circles.
During the middle section of mentoring
Your mentor will provide coaching in how to change your thinking and behaviour to be more effective at work and in your life.
You will work together to monitor and record progress and pitfalls.
You will be given ‘homework’ tasks to complete in between sessions.
You may be sent recording forms to monitor your own experience between sessions.
Towards the end of the mentoring agreement
You will jointly review progress towards your agreed goals with your mentor. Based on this review you may decide together to undertake more sessions. More often you will be preparing to end.
Your mentor will help you consolidate and plan your self-management so that you are able to continue your new habits after the mentoring has ended.
You may consider booking a ‘booster’ session some time after the main work is done, in order to ensure your new skills are maintained.
You will be asked to evaluate your experience of working with GreenWood using an anonymous feedback and evaluation form. This is the only thing that will be visible to your company, but your company will not know your identity.
