Helen is particularly interested in systems and how groups of people interact.

This includes families, peer groups and organizations. She believes this ‘wider picture’ is the key to including the right context when formulating problems ands maximizing potential.
Helen is currently Lead Consultant Psychologist for a Psychological Therapies team within the NHS, managing other workers as well as seeing clients herself.

As part of the Senior Management Team she is influential in decision making and has direct experience of the management issues within a large organisation.

She delivers training, particularly teaching professionals how to take the wider systemic view of situations and interactions, whether these are positive or problematic.

Helen’s research interests include studying how positive approaches by  people in authority can influence the development, wellbeing and performance of those under their care.
